Hi family and friends!!
This past week was a crazy one but was full of SO many blessings!! We taught a lesson in Korean almost every day this week, and when I say teach, I mean we say a bunch of Korean words next to each other and hope that it might make a tiny bit of sense (but it usually doesn't). But it's ok because we just say what we know how to say and let the spirit do the rest!! We also memorized the Missionary Purpose in Korean, we learned how to pray in Korean, and this upcoming week we are learning the First Vision in Korean. It's so many words to memorize, but it's been AWESOME! Sometimes I find myself reciting the Missionary Purpose in Korean without realizing it hahah.
This past Tuesday, Elder Holland came to speak to us. WOW it was amazing. He talked about how missionaries are the most prayed for people in this church, and how we need to be an example to others. Not just in the field, but after we come home too. He said that we do not have the RIGHT to tarnish the image of missionaries of this church. Ah it was so good and I wish that you all could have heard it.
This week, my companion was really struggling with the language. She's learning at a bit of a slower rate than the rest of our district, and she was feeling discouraged and inadequate. She ended up getting a priesthood blessing from one of the Branch Presidency members (Brother Bartholomew), and it was one of the most powerful blessings I've ever heard. It was a really hard day, but also so so so spiritual and uplifting. Sister Walker decided to get up every morning at 5:30 to study the language, and I am getting up with her at 6:00 to read that Book of Mormon in Korean with her. Just as I was getting used to 6:30 hahaha. But honestly there is nothing that I wouldn't sacrifice to help Sister Walker feel happy and confident while at the MTC!! I know I said this already, but she is the greatest person ever and I am SO blessed to have her!!
My favorite quote this week is "It's not about what you do. It's about what Christ did. It's about what He continues to do and what He can do through you." --Brother Bartholomew
We don't have to have faith in ourselves to learn this language!! We have to have faith in Christ and focus on serving the people of Korea!
I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!! I LOVE THIS GOSPEL!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!
