I survived the first week in the MTC!!

This here is your typical "I survived the first week in the MTC!!!!!!" email. And I did just that! My companion is the best EVER. Like how in the world did I get so blessed?? My district is awesome and we're are already best friends. For those of you who have been unfortunate enough to see me before the hour of 8 am, you know full well that I am not a morning person hahaha. Lots and lots of prayers were said this week and I'm getting to the point where I don't want to smash my alarm into a billion pieces every time it goes off. Maybe just beat it around a little. Progress at it's finest.

I've heard the worst things about the food here, but it's honestly not terrible. Maybe it's because I'm not a super picky eater (@katiebradz), but it will probably get pretty bad after 9 weeks here.

We taught our first lesson in Korean on Friday!!! It was so fun, but we didn't really know any Korean so we just took in a page of notes and read them to her!! When she talked to us (all in Korean) we just smiled, nodded, and said "nay nay nay". The second lesson was on Saturday, and we weren't allowed to have any notes at all!! The older district used notes for the first 3 weeks. They said our teacher is super hard core!!! But that's ok because it just means that we'll learn faster!! We study Korean all the time and I fall asleep thinking Korean words, I wake up in the middle of the night thinking Korean words, and I wake up in the morning thinking Korean words. Unfortunately, I only know like 20. So they're just on repeat. IT'S AWESOME:)

I love it here!!!! It's honestly so hard, but my district and zone are full of THE BEST PEOPLE! There's a district from Korea that came here the same day as us, and they are the CUTEST people. We don't know much Korean and they don't know much English, but it's surprising how much you can communicate through a few words and lots and lots of hand gestures.

Sunday was the BEST! We watched the Character of Christ by Elder Bednar, and it was amazing!! He talked about the importance of turning outward. This mission isn't about us!! We don't need to have faith in ourselves to learn this language. We need to have faith in Christ!! It was a really good reminder!

I LOVE YOU ALL!! I hope you have the best week:)
